Coming by Ferry
Most of our Island family is coming from Nanaimo, so we've put that first.
Duke Point (Nanaimo) → Tsawwassen
- Take the ferry from Duke Point, not Departure Bay. Duke Point sails straight to Tsawwassen, about 10 minutes from the venue.
- Crossing time: about 2 hours
- Duke Point is about 20 minutes south of downtown Nanaimo, and no bus goes there, so plan on driving or getting a ride
- Aim for a sailing that gets you in at least 2–3 hours before the ceremony so you have time to check in and change
- Reserve early. Summer Saturdays fill up, and there are fewer sailings on this route than on the Victoria one.
- Fares were about $21 per adult and $89 per standard vehicle (plus driver) in 2026. Check current fares when you book.
- Getting home: late Saturday sailings are limited, so we suggest staying the night and catching a Sunday ferry back. The Coast Tsawwassen Inn is minutes from the terminal.
Heads up: Departure Bay sails to Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver, on the other side of the city. From there it's a long drive through Vancouver to Tsawwassen, so only use it as a backup if Duke Point is full.
Book on BC FerriesSwartz Bay (Victoria) → Tsawwassen
- Crossing time: about 1 hr 35 min, landing at the same Tsawwassen terminal, about 10 minutes from the venue
- BC Ferries strongly recommends reserving on this route
- Same fares as the Nanaimo route. Walk-on passengers can take a taxi or rideshare from the terminal.
